TJ was born in Mountain Home, Idaho, where his dad was stationed at the Air Force base as a captain flying bombers. His mother was from Fort Worth, Texas, and his earliest memories were living and growing up in southern Oklahoma. TJ and his wife Carol moved to New Jersey (he could only take it for a couple of years) before they moved to Delmarva in 1993.
TJ and Carol were married in January of 1990 after meeting at an Oklahoma City radio station. TJ was a morning co-host, and Carol was a high school special education teacher and guest on the show to tell us about her deaf performing group who would be at our station ‘birthday party.’
TJ and Carol have 4 children, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Jennifer lives in Florida; her eldest son, Tim, is in Colorado with his wife and their only great-grandson. Tim’s younger brother, Nick, is in New York, and their sister, Paige is in Florida with Jenn. Erick is living in Lewes, Jason and his son, Austin, are in Oklahoma City, and their youngest son, Zack, his wife, Hailey and their son, Cade, are living with us in Laurel, Delaware.
Tj identified that he has always enjoyed the banjo. “I have the banjo that Carol bought me as a gift nearly thirty years ago. I still can’t play it”.
When asked about what excites him as being apart of the pastoral team at Park Lane, TJ indicated that “I’m excited by the fact that as the end of time draws ever closer, Bishop Ray has instilled in the hearts of leadership in the church the desire to meet people where they are to share the love of Christ and the Hope of the future. That means constantly reviewing our ministries and outreaches to quality check them and evaluate their effectiveness”.
